Katie is determined to keep her sister's memory alive and honor her. You will also notice some form of a blue butterfly in all of our logos over the years.

She decided on the perfect name, A Lively Event. When Katie decided to start an event planning company, she knew she wanted to honor her sister's memory. When it was time for Breann's funeral, the family was greeted by a beautiful blue butterfly that kept flying around the family.

NOTHING, Nothing was more Lively and full of life than she was. Breann had Down Syndrome and loved to be the center of attention, keep everyone on their toes, and be as LIVELY as possible!!! If you had the joy of meeting Breann, you automatically fell in love with her and could feel her energy. Breann is the reason A Lively Event is named just that. Breann was 14 when she passed away and Katie was 17.įor those of you whom are new to our page or have not hear the story of Breann and A Lively Event, we hope you have a minute to read about it. 17 years ago, Katie lost her sister after a battle with Lupus. It marks an anniversary that makes us sad to celebrate. Today is a somber day for our A Lively Event family. How lucky we are to be a small part of it. The signs just keep on coming, showing me that Brett is at peace and sending love from above 💕 the world is full of pain and sadness, but it’s also full of beauty. Several little guys landed on me, and one - a worker female - hung out on my glove for a good 10 minutes or so 😊 I was told that when bees land on you, it symbolizes happiness and good fortune. This morning, I had the chance to see a local honeybee apiary up close (!!) with at the Sankofa Community Orchard.

The bee was drawn based on a photo he took, and the script was stenciled from his signature on a birthday card he gave me when I turned 14 🥹 Last night, I got a tattoo as a tribute to my sweet brother - a dedicated worker bee in his own right who simply wanted to make the world a better place. Without bees, humanity would eventually cease to exist (this is why sustainability efforts are SO important!). When Ra wept, his tears fell to Earth and became bees destined to make the world beautiful.Īs a chef and avid gardener, Brett absolutely loved honey bees and understood their significance, as bees are responsible for pollinating about 80% of the world’s flowering plants and produce. In Kemetic (Egyptian) tradition, bees are the tears of the Sun God, Ra. In Celtic tradition, bees are considered the messengers across the veil to Heaven.
